What We Do

Turn left at the dirt road.

Simple, right?  Yet at the time the small town of Robert, LA was practically devoid of paved roads so if we were having a big crayfish boil at a hunting camp at the end of a winding dirt road, how would our friends find OUR dirt road?  John Perilloux and I came up with a simple solution.  We painted an enormous sign that read “The Dirt Road” then nailed it 15 feet high on the telephone pole at the entrance to our dirt road.   No one had trouble finding our party.

Too bad websites don’t come with such simple instructions

Now think about this.  Your website has great content, a weekly blog, plenty of useful information, testimonials, upcoming events, photographs, special events, et cetera, but how will your customers actually find it?  What simple set of directions will point them to your online content?  Today it’s not as easy as putting up a big sign.

Today’s road signs are Twitter, Facebook, Linked In, Instagram, Google+, RSS, Pinterest, Four Square and on and on.  How can a business use these road signs to help customers find their content without them getting lost along the way?

Jack Russell Social Media Consulting, that’s how.

My wife and I owned a small restaurant in a low-rent neighborhood.  We had a very small advertising budget ($9.34 per month, sometimes less) yet we were very successful.   Key to our success was my penchant for guerilla marketing.  I created clever ways to get noticed and written about in traditional print media.  Years later when I self-published my novel, Doughnuts for Amy, I was able to turn it into an Amazon best-seller using social media.  And while rehabbing from reconstructive knee surgery which placed my cooking career on the back burner, I started managing a few social media platforms for my friend’s businesses.  What do we do now?
